Mary Kate Loring

Mary Kate Loring grew up in Leawood Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City) and came to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005. After discovering Granny's House through an Education service-learning class at Mizzou in January of 2007, she decided to change her major from Education to Social Work.

After volunteering with Granny's House for three years, Mary Kate went on staff with the ministry in January of 2010 as the Outreach Coordinator. While she wears many different "hats" throughout the week, one of Mary Kate's main responsibilities is working alongside the African Refugee children and families who live in public housing. Mary Kate also leads The Precious Jewels program on Wednesday evenings for 1st-4th grade girls.

Mary Kate attends The Crossing Church in Columbia, Missouri and raises support to work at Granny's House.
