What's this? How does it help Granny's House?

Project Haiti

At Granny's House, we are always searching for exciting ways to mentor the children in serving and giving to others. When we learned about the children who attend Haiti's New Missions school, we immediately jumped at the opportunity to introduce the Granny's House kids to children in this impoverished nation.

Granny's House "sponsors" two children (a boy and girl) through New Missions. After reading and discussing New Missions' book, "The Life of a Child," most of our kids walked away saying "I'm so glad I'm not poor." It was such a revelation for them to learn that, though they may have very little, there are actually families who have much less than they do. "Project Haiti" gives the children an opportunity to act on what they're learning at Granny's House: reflecting God's heart of compassion by giving, loving, and serving others. They're learning, in a hands-on way, that they have much to offer and they're not too young to start serving the Lord by praying for and giving to their young Haitian friends. Each quarter, one of our Granny's House groups sends a "care package" and cards to our two sponsored children.
